Learn a language online with a live teacher
Alimun is an online language school where every course is built around live classes with a teacher. Here is how it works and what to expect.
Live online classes, not recorded videos
Every class is a live video lesson with a teacher and the same group of learners, on fixed days at the same time each week. You speak from the first lesson, your teacher corrects you as you go, and after each class you get the session notes, the new vocabulary and your homework.
Practice between classes
Between lessons you keep practicing with exercises at your level that are corrected instantly, flashcards with the vocabulary from class and tasks in exam format. Your teacher sets the homework and returns it corrected, with a grade, your strengths and what to improve.
Group classes at a fair price
In a group, the cost of each class is shared, so live teaching costs far less than private tutoring. You choose how much attention you want: groups of about 35, 17 or 6 people, or private one-to-one classes, from €24 a month.
Every level from A1 to C2
Courses follow the Common European Framework of Reference, from beginner to proficient. A short placement test puts you in the right group between A1 and C1, so you do not repeat what you already know. You can also practice tasks in the format of B2 First, C1 Advanced and IELTS for English, and Goethe B1, Goethe B2 and telc B1 for German.
English and German now, more languages soon
English and German classes are open today. French, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese are coming, and you can join their waitlist for free to hear when they open. All you need is a computer or other device with a camera and a microphone: classes run in the browser and you can cancel at any time.

How can your classes be so affordable compared to private tutors?
One teacher leads a group, so the cost of each class is shared. Between classes you get instant feedback on your practice, and your teacher grades your homework.
Does a group class really improve my speaking fluency?
Yes. Your teacher guides the conversation, gives everyone time to speak and corrects you live, in groups of about 6 to 35 depending on your tier.
What if I have an unpredictable schedule?
Each class meets on fixed days at a fixed time every week, with the same teacher and group, so choose a class whose schedule fits you. Between classes you can practise whenever you want.
Who are the teachers?
Every teacher applies with a CV, credentials and a 2-minute video, then leads a 30-minute practice session with a small group of active students before teaching.
What do I get with the subscription?
Live classes with your teacher and group on your plan’s schedule, session notes, graded homework, and a practice library with instant feedback, flashcards and exam-format practice.
How do I sign up for membership?
Sign up at alimun.com/signup, take the short placement test and choose your tier. Classes are open in English and German; for other languages, join the free waitlist and we email you when it opens.
